I watched a programme once where they investigated the DFS sales... apparently the sofas are supposed to be full price for a short while at their "flagship" store (for legal reasons), but the investigator got the salesman to admit that it was virtually impossible to get one at full price. Anywhere.

I think they get sofa's and say that the RRP price is say £1000 but they buy them so cheap that they can sell them for £500 there for they say

WAS: £1000

NOW £500

but really they always sell they for the 'NOW' price....

There's been a lot of publicity on the subject hence the advert that says....

"Half price sale...... Not another one" etc etc

NOTE: they say that they only have 2 sales a year TRue or false ? well I think it's true they have two 6 month long half price sales !

No! Of course they dont.

Dont believe them, its all a con. They try to make you rush down to the shop, they always say 'ends monday' or whatever! but then on tuesday there will be another sale.

If they say a sofa is £500, normally £1000, its not! its always been £500.

And you notice they always have 'sales'! It never ends.

If they kept selling things for half the price they were supposed to they'd be out of business.

Good Question it's one big con that's why we have sales all year round.Last year we went to the sales I wanted a 2 seater & 2 chairs. They had to be made so we ended up paying the full price.I could have by them got a 2 & 3 seater for half price.

Do they ever full price sales is what I want to know-it always seems to be half price!

This might seem unconnected, but I remember reading that when you see wine reduced in supermarkets, the manufacturers make as much selling the wine at half price for 3 months as they do for the other 9 months, because they sell more when its cheaper.
