So we are moving soon and I am looking for new bedroom furniture. I fell in love with the bed in this picture and I want a bed like this! I have tried searching for "bed with drawers underneath" but I only found like 3. Is there a specific name for this kind of bed? Also what kind of mattress do you think it is? I also thought it would be really cool if the mattress rests on top of the bed frame instead of actually sitting inside the frame

Disagree with other poster. I was on a search for these beds not more than a few months ago. I started by googling "bed with drawers" cuz I didn't know the proper name either. I came up with quite a few. Also, notice your example is a KIDS bed. Be careful of what your sizing is. I was finding many combos of drawer configurations, too. Some are available with headboards that you can store junk in also.

But in the end, we ended up going with a pretty wrought iron bed. We used some bed stackers to elevate the bed, and my daughter was able to slide her bins full of stuff under the bed any way she wanted to, rather than try to make it fit into cheap drawers. By the way, that is the most common criticism is the cheap plywood of the drawers, not to mention lack of support for the mattress.

That style is called a "platform bed", and while many companies offer them, they don't all come with storage underneath. Platforms use regular mattresses, but usually no box-spring. Companies that specialize in space saving furniture and Scandinavian designed furniture usually have something like this.

The modular approach used in the room arrangement of the image included with your question gives the bedroom a clean look; shows a twin size mattress. Did not locate the same arrangement but did find a number of platform beds with storage beneath them. Adding a small open desk beside the bed would begin to create the same look. Besides the platform bed style, there are daybeds which will accomondate a twin mattress and are designed with storage underneath. Even included a captain bed style which offers six storage drawers along each side and some DIY plans for similar bed styles. If none of these suggestions work for you, search the internet using the word string 'platform bed with storage', 'twin platform bed with storage', or 'kids platform bed with storage' to locate other options.

It's called a platform bed. If you decide on buying one I recommend checking on pbteen.com/. They have platform beds that range from $1000-$3300.
