My number one paint choice is Benjamin Moore. That stuff is so nice. I stay as far away as I can from Walmart paint. That stuff stinks, figuratively speaking. (from experience)

Additional info:

You get what you pay for as far as paint goes.

Also, you can use a different sheen of paint if you want. If you buy the higher quality paint it will cover it well.

Advice from a pro painter, use the best paint you can afford, but try and stay away from house brands(that is paint brands made specifically for a retail outlet). Any of the more well known manufacturers have good products and large ranges to cover most painting requirements. As to the actual physical part of painting, try and work in a clear area with no clutter under your feet etc. Make sure you clean and prep the walls as per the paint manufacturers requirements, work slowly and steadily, dont rush yourself, use good quality tools and equipment, dont waste money on cheap tools they wont last and wont produce the best results. If you want more specific details let me know at holmesdec@yahoo.co.nz.

We prefer to use Valspar paint. You can get it at Lowes.

My advice is don't count on the painter's tape to give you clean paint lines. The key is to try and keep the paint off the tape. The first time I painted a room, I was devastated because the paint bled through the painters tape.

Good luck.

dutch boy is a good brand, sherman willams also, use a 6'inch roller,do not use real dark colors, they well make your rooms smaller, also,if you ever plan on washing your walls, you want to be sure that you use a paint that can stand up it to it,again, duch boy is a very good paint, you can it at wall mart,or any haedware or paint store,be sure they put a good dot on the lid for you in case you ever need more they can match it.

Go to Lowes's they have a great paint, Valspar.

I have used everything, Ralph Lauren is great also, but the first one goes on really smooth.

Good luck.

Go to Wal-Mart and get Dutch Boy. (But make sure the person mixing knows how to transfer the formula's....) It's a heavier, sometimes one coat, depending on the color (but I always do two) It cleans up real easy and it's in the handy jug with the screw on top and pour spout, and it's only about $16.00 a gallon.

Make sure you are applying the same type of paint that you are painting over. For example, if you are covering semi-gloss, don't use flat.
