Place the bed where the desk is and make that the accent wall.

Hang a large mural

Red accent wall.

A gold faux finish would look great and it's easy to do.

Add rich colors with bedding, wall art, a rug in front of the bed and accessories.

Tape off walls, ceiling and baseboards with blue painters tape.

Put down a drop cloth/plastic, wear gloves.

Paint the wall with a yellow/golden tan semi-gloss latex paint

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/indigomoon/Remodel/JerseyCream3.jpg

let dry at least 6 hours, over night is best.

Pour 4 parts glaze to 1 part medium brown latex paint in a small container/dish and add one part water, stir/mix well.

http://www.designsbyhein.com/My%20Pictures/faux_finishes/fresco_brown_suede_medium.jpg

Using two 2 inch paint brushes and starting at the top corner of the wall, make two

1 foot long sqiggle lines, one with glaze, the other with the golden paint 6 inches apart.

Wad a rag (cheesecloth works great) up into a ball in your fist, not allowing any ends to dangle and lightly rub blending the two lines together then a swirling figure eight then pat the edges to blend, continue down the wall staggering the lines and then back to the top until the wall is finished. Remove prep tape before glaze dries.

Paint the remaining walls a light tan/cream.

I think white furniture, or a very light wood would look the best with lavender.
