Re-decorating my Room ... HELP ?
2008-09-11 20:06:02 UTC
I'm 15, and I'm re-decorating my room.
I have an ugly Hunter Green carpet that can't be removed . =(
anyways, my room is small, and i have a double bed.
i want to order a bedroom ensemble from Wake Up Frankie, but they are too expensive with the shipping and handleing charges.

anyways, my questions are:

where can i get cheap bedroom ensembles online for not expensive?
and, what colours go good with a hunter green carpet?

ii need help, lol.

If you don't want to match your carpet, just hide it. Buy a rug to cover it all up! If you do want to match your carpet, I'd suggest a purple or white.

Some great places to get furniture are Target & Ikea

Hunter green colour is ugly, i agree. If your room is small i'd suggest you paint your walls white, if it isn't already, light colours make rooms appear bigger.I would paint the window ceils and the rim around the ceiling hunter green (i know gross, but it's better to have them much the carpet)

Also for small rooms, if you got someone who arty in your family or relative or friend who would be willing to do it, on one of the walls that isn't cluttered with other things, paint a mural that's got depth (you know an effect that seems like you could walk in it). Again that would make the room appear bigger. Also you said you had a double bed, unless you love double beds, try getting a single that way you'll have more space.

I'm with the Ikea and Target answer. You can go with pretty much any colors you want. Just throw in some plants or have throw pillows, curtain tie backs and/or a picture that has some of the same hunter green to tie it all together.

I had hunter green carpet in my bedroom as a teen, and I painted the walls a tan color, and got a bed comforter that was tan with little palm trees on it. It looked great, because it wasn't overly-colorful-beachy. Very sophisticated look

Hi, I love the bedding you are getting. Here is a website that has a lot of loft beds. Some are kinda young, but others are pretty good. Maybe for a chair you could get a nice big bean bag chair. Or PB teen hae some nice seating as well. I imagine a lot of mirrors with this pattern, but thats just me. For curtains, I would maybe use orange. Good Luck!

Have you considered doing a natural theme? What about something like this: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_096C6043000B?vName=For+the+Home&cName=Bedding&sName=Comforters , with bamboo and natural wood accents?

You want light colors with a small room. Khaki or ivory would go well with hunter green.

Have you considered checking department store websites? Many of them will allow you to order an item and have it shipped to your local store for free. Then you just go and pick it up there.

i would buy carpet tiles and use loc tite or hot glue to seal each tile on top of the carpet
