Looking at a home which is lacking curb appeal big time. Think adding a window to big blank spot on front of home will help add much needed balance. On the other side is the kitchen/dining area so that should be OK. Approx how much to add a window where there was none before? Home is stucco exterior.
Guessing costs would be for:
Remove existing material
Frame for new window
Install window
Repair stucco surround
Actual window cost

I flip houses and add windows where there are not any all the time. I am sure you must know someone that can advise and help you do this yourself. It will run you $500 tops if you do it yourself. If you hire someone it will be $1200-2500+depending on size. It's honestly not that hard to do, just takes a little cutting and framing and patch work and you got a new window. If you are looking to save money and don't want to do it all alone just do the demo work and hire the rest. That should cut a 3ed off the cost.

Adding a window in such a manner can be relatively simple (as previously stated).

But keep in mind there are several other factors to consider before you simply "cut" and "patch"!

You really need to determine what`s in the wall and what`s on top of the wall.

Obviously you`re going to have to do some framing( apropriate header, studding and window opening)

But prior to the cutting let`s make certain you`re not going to cut through any utilities!!!!!

Previous post is probably in the ballpark on price(depending on the size of the opening)
