My husband and I have been searching for a toilet for a long time now and we need a good toilet that flushes without clogging. My 8 year old son has a tendency to clog the toilet every time he goes that now we tell him not to flush and we have to fish the item out (if you know what i mean--don't want to be too graphic). We would like to make a good decision on a toilet and not be disappointed with our choice. A plumber recommended the Kohler Cimeron and we purchased it but now after reading some of the reviews on it if it was a good choice. I have been also reading about the Toto Drake. Please help me make a decision. If I exchange the Cimeron for the Toto and it doesn't do what i hope it does, I won't hear the end of it from my husband. Please help.

The Toto Drake is the toilet to "go" with (pardon the pun :) You won't be sorry. I had a situation with a toilet at the lowest point of the house plumbing and it would clog and cause all sorts of problems. The Toto Drake is the answer for you as it was for me. Their flush mechanisms are the best.

I have been told that Kohler is so paranoid of the Toto competition that they will not sell to a supplier that displays Toto. No contest. Buy the Toto and hubby will still love you later. Promise. :)

PS get the sani-gloss finish for ease of maintenance. :)

EDIT: I found the best price with free shipping from this site:

Toto is supposed to be superior even to Kohler. When looking at toilets for a remodel, a guy at a plumbing store said that we should get Toto if we're going to replace the existing Kohlers. They were too expensive, though, so we kept the Kohlers.

We have Toto and we love it. I can't remember the model, but when you put the toilet seat down, it goes down by itself without a sound.

It has never clogged despite putting a generous amount of toilet paper in there. The lever is split on the top. One lever flushes using less water than the other lever.

Our other toilets are American and they clog at least once a month.

You may want to consider going to a store that carries the Toto and having the salesperson there explain it in better detail. That's what we did.

Good luck!!

I am only familiar with the Kohler, good product. We have all American Standard with no problems.
