Question:
What kind of paint would be best to use over tile in a kitchen?

My husband and I are trying to over haul the kitchen and we are on a budget. The majority of the kitchen money went to counter tops. There is pink glossy tile along the wall where the stove and sink are. We are hoping we can do some sort of paint over that pink tile but Im wondering what kind of paint would work. Im worried the steam from cooking and any splash back from the sink would just run later on or spot. Any ideas on how to cover this pink tile? We are hoping to save some money by not having to tile it all with brand new tiles. Thanks.

If the tile is only in those areas you may be further ahead to retile. the paint that claims to stick to tile would not be cheap and from what i've seen doesn't work that well. it won't fall off by itself but with continuous wiping and splatters it will chip and eventually come off. check the paint price against the tile price. they may not be that different and you can wipe and splash the new tile as much as you want. good luck

I think acrylic or enamel. Go to a home center and look near the rustoleum paint. There will be quart and pint sized cans of acrylic and enamel. Those paints dry really hard.
