What great ideas people have given you... Here's what I did with old buttons and sewing notions. I bought a 11x44
oak frame at the Dollar Store ($5.00) glued fabric to the card board and place the buttons and notions on the fabric
and then attached the frame. When completed I hung it in my sewing and craft room. For a real antique look paint the frame white and use a crackle technique after this is a great effect.. Have fun!!!!

I have made numerous picture frames even better by gluing old buttons all around the frame. Some I divided into all white buttons or ones with jewels while others I used whatever button I picked up next. The key is to get closeout frames so they're cheap and wide frames so you have alot of room. I have also done a mirror this way with all white buttons and gave it as a wedding gift!!

You could buy a Valance for a certian room, preferrably a neutral color and then sew different kinds and types of buttons on it then hang it on the window. Not only do you show off yo ur buttons but you change the look of a room.

Have you thought of decorating denim purses or book bags with the buttons? Maybe make throw pillows from old denim jeans and decorate with your buttoms. If they are "heirlooms" from family, maybe a shadowbox for the wall. You can make one from a deep picture frame choosing the background you prefer and sewing or hot-gluing them to the background. Use glass to protect your heirloom buttons.. a nice addition to a room plus it will give a personal touch to your decor. good luck!

Make or buy a scrap quilt and put buttons on corners of each square or randomly throughought the whole thing. Then you can hang it on a wall or put it on a guest bed that doesn't get used very often.

You can buy plain afghans at craft stores which are usually used for cross stitch. try arranging them on one of those, and draping on your couch.
