i need some ways to make my bedroom look not so plain

well im 13 and i already have furiture and everything im just looking for ways to make my room stand out not having to buy anything like mayeb hang lights and stuff like that but i dotn have very great ideas for that right now...does anyone have some interesting ways to make my room look not so plain and original just more interesting..and im not very interested inhanging a whole bunch of posters and stuff i want like unusual ideas

Before you do anything to drastic, ask your parents. Also, I rearranged, painted, added color and accessories to my entire house, and I drew a floor plan, that then a drawing of each wall. This is a good idea when you are wanting to paint or rearrange, or hang things on the wall.

I have this huge sliding glass door with vertical blinds on it that I couldn't figure out what to do with, so I found some old white Christmas lights and draped them across the top. Its so cool, it they are bright enough where you don't need any other source of lighting.

Your room needs to have a focal point, something in which everything else is based around. Being its your bedroom, your focal point should be your bed. Mirrors awesome for a bedroom, and it doesn't need to be used as a mirror, just decoration. Hanging a square mirror above your bed so it diamonds shaped,

Make a list of the things you like. You can make this fun, and no one has to see it but you. Be completely honest with yourself. Mold your life around what you like. It's alright if you like to make other people happy, it's good to be able to bend a little for other people. However, don't wear something to make someone else like you. Don't do the 'cool' things if you don't like them.

Decorate your room the way you want it to be. If you want certain colors on your walls, buy some paint and get started! Whether you want to hang paintings or posters, or if you want to put flowers or a collection of yours on your shelves, make sure your room reflects you as a person.

Decorate your bedroom with fairy lights or charms, or brighten up a boring bedroom wall with a notice board filled with pictures of all the people and things that are special to you.

One great idea is a beanbag in the corner. Plants are very pleasing to the eye! Find some good posters of nature or peace and such, and put them up on the walls. Put up some poster frames or something of strange objects. Perhaps get a really large one and put a loved but too small T-shirt in it or something. The possibilities are endless! And most of them-like the windchimes or beanbag chair-are fairly inexpensive.

Most of all, have fun redecorating!

Chandeliers are really instyle at the moment. You can find some made of plastic, that way it will keep the cost down. get a fun comforter with a few colors, this way you will be able to match your accessories to it. Get picture frames, a fun desk lamp, a vase with a single flower in it, a fun cell phone holder. All this in the tones of your comforter. Also a few trow pillows, but not to many or it will look messy or tacky. I would get a mirror, relatively large since you don't want any posters, but I would also get a painting or something in a frame that will represent you & will also not leave your walls looking bare. don't over accessories or it will look junky if your room is small.

Tired of a blank, plaid, room? Heres some cool decorating tips.



Steps:Start looking for some cool bedspreads that portray your hobbies, interests or favorite colors. Your bed is a major focal point in your room so getting the right bedspread is important.

Buy some paint that either matches the color of your bedspread, comforter, sheets and pillows or contrast and paint the walls.

Take one spot in your room to make into a hangout spot.

Make sure you have a cool, neat closet system with plenty of storage.

Arrange the items in your room so that they suit you. If you will be using your room for homework then make a practical study area, if you are using your room for practicing dance e.t.c then make sure you'll have space & if your just going to relax & hang out with your friends in your room then create an area with chairs or bean-bags. Whatever suits you!

Finish your room off by personalizing it. This can be done by adding posters,( which i know u dont like) pictures, photos, accessories & any other things you like that would make your room your own.

To make ur room pop get a laptop and work area(im just saying).





TipsAlways have some plastic paper on the ground when you paint-not fabric because the paint can soak through.

Don't be afraid to jazz it up a little!

Have fun and make sure it will be something you could have for the next 3-5 years.

Make sure it shows "true you"! You might want to put little things that mean a lot to you around your room.

yeah you know im not a hannah fan but i love how they did the room on this episode.

lots of things can make your room feel more intimate and personal- you don't really need to paint, you should let the stuff in your room do the 'talkin".

Rearranging furniture changes a look of any room.

For example:

Move the bed in another angle, use night tables as end tables, use indirect light with table lamps.

To add color and coziness use lots of pillows of different colors and sizes.

you should paint your room something bright. The walls in my room are bright bright lime green which just makes everything brighter. even though my furniture and stuff are kinda blah, my room seems really fun. oh and also, get some fun chairs or pillows to decorate it. and instead of posters, cut out pictures or pics of hobbies or just anything from magazines or online and glue (or w/e) onto a black cardboard thing and put it up on your wall. you can also put pictures of your friends and family on it.

Hang Christmas rope lights all the way around the ceiling and place Ivy garland (fake) with the lights. Looks great, especially if you use the lights that you can adjust for runner, blinking, or just to stay still. This gives a new touch now and then. i have the hugest best scarf collection. summery ones, silk ones, wool, all kinds! so many that i can't really put them on a rack or anything like that. & as my collection grew, i started draping them over my mirror, from corner to corner of pictures on the wall, tieing them around my lamps & bedposts. i like using the more exotic ones for decorating: antique ones or indian. you can probably go to the goodwill & find some. maybe even use some as doilies? have fun!

paint swirling designs on ur walls in bold colours and colour co ordinate them with ur bedding OR sellotape a load of water balloons to ur wall containing different paint colours and throw darts at them to make an artistic splash. do this with friends mad craic!! but cover the floor with an old sheet first!!lol!

having a color scheme would be great or a theme..like does your mom have floral curtains? try matching it with your floral bed spreads for the week and put some flower themed accents to your room...you can have a different themed (striped or checkered or rocker chic ) room every week and make it a project with your mom (since she has the stuff you can use-sheets curtains decors what-nots...or maybe she can buy the stuff -hint hint ;D)

Well, i've you've ever seen little hangers you can hang on your door handle, you could hang them on your walls, hmmm. maybe you could re-arrange your furniture in away that seems unusual.

You could get those glow-in-the-dark stars to stick on stuff, their cheap, and really cool. (:

It's weird, but i use christmas lights in my room all year round, like i wrap them around my bed set, and this butterfly chair i have.
